The reason for this is that the digestability of Flint River Ranch is approximately 95%, compared to 80-85% for many brands of dog food, particularly if they contain corn and by-products as major ingredients. When switching to Flint River Ranch, be sure not to overfeed your dog or you will be negating many of the positive effects of Flint River by causing a weight problem. Also remember to switch gradually by mixing in some Flint River with your dog's current food. Many customers have told me that their dogs have found the food to be very "rich" compared to what they were eating before and experienced digestive upset until their systems got used to having less filler in the food.
